Teacher’s Prayer

I realize that most of you are not headed for your first day of school today.  Yet we all are meeting new challenges today.  I am sure that each of could pray this prayer,  that we may be taught and that we will be open for God to use us to be His teacher for those we meet.
This year I have 14 students, 7 in 5th and 7 in 6th.  It should be a great year.  My prayer for my students is that they will have a closer walk with Christ, that I can be a help in their journey and not an obstacle.
Hope everyone has an awesome day!

Be a Bee

This weekend we took a little time and went to Solvang.  Had a wonderful time.  By this time next week I will have completed the first day of school.
Came across this quote and really liked it.  I have found that being a service for others is much more rewarding.  But sometimes we can loose sight of that as we go from day to day.  God has “written” much of His laws in nature for us to study.  We just need to take the time to look and learn.
Have a great week.

My Influence

Things are changing a bit for us.  I, of course, reported back to work today.  Leonard also signed his contract for another year of music at the school, but the exciting thing is that he also started working at Grace Bible Church as the choir director.  This is for at least 4 to 6 months as they are searching for a new Minister of Music.  He is very excited to get a chance to do this.  To help balance out his time, he is going to not play with the Hancock Band and he won’t be working with the Chamber Orchestra.  This gives us a little more time together and less money spent on gas, so I’m all for the change too.
This poster I thought was very timely, for us at least.  God gives all of us talents, but need to let God lead us in being of service for Him and those around us.  That is my prayer for all of us.

Everyone has Baggage

This is an odd picture.  All those items came out the nooks and crannies of a very nice car. (Not mine!)  All had been hidden or disguised in such a way that you would never have guessed it was all there.  It got me to thinking about a couple of things.  The first was that Christ had accused the Pharisees of being nice on the outside, but rotten on the inside.
But the more I thought about it, the more it reminded me that we all carry “baggage” with us.  Others may look like they are so perfect and have no problems whatsoever while we want to complain to God about how He has let us down and our life is a mess.   Sometimes we think it would be so great to change places with them,  but we only see the outside, with just glimpses of their baggage.
So, daily, I need to remember to let God be my “Baggage Handler.”  He knows exactly what I need.  He knows where I have been, what I am facing and I need to trust Him to lead me to where I need to go.
Have a great week.
